MEMORIAL HALL

Ah, lovely lovely X4, our first exposure to Zero in glorious (or grainy) anime FMV. OK, so the anime wasn't top quality, but it was nice to see some on a game after endless months of computer animated movies.

At any rate, X4 is about gameplay, and that's where it excels. Playing as X is fun of course, but playing as Zero is the non-sexual equivilent of an orgasm. If you don't worship a god at this point, may I recommend the Sky Waltz.

There is voice acting, in theory. The voices aren't really bad (they're the songs of angels compared to Megaman 8's horrid affair), but the voice actors are less than stellar. Zero says "Iris" like he's trying to pass a kidney stone. X sounds like he got kicked in the nuts. But other than that, it's not too bad. General is voiced by Prof. Oak's actor...did you know that? Iris and Colonel have decent voices, especially Colonel's Aussie/English hybrid. :) And Double's a clever little smooth talker.

The Japanese voices aren't gold, and don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise. X sounds great, and that's the extent of it. Zero sounds like he's on a major dose of testosterone, Colonel sounds like a Nazi superman, and Iris...oh lordy. When she breaks up the fight between Zero and Colonel, you just want to jump into the game, kick her head in, and watch it bounce off the walls of Memorial Hall. However, unlike the American voices, the Japanese voice acting has one thing the US voices lacked...acting.

So it all kind of evens out.

Memorial hall will give you some information on Zero's plot. I don't know what else to include. :( If you have any ideas, drop me a line!
